The Diploma Awarding Ceremony 2007 was held the day after the Written Paper and Oral Examination (May 5, 2007 at 2 pm).

In the presence of the Executive Committee of the European Board and of the Board of Examiners, many of them gowned, the candidates who pass the EBOD examination and already hold a valid certificate of Specialist in Ophthalmology in any country of the European Union, Norway, or Switzerland will be presented with their new European Board of Ophthalmology Diplomas, signed by the President and all Vice-Presidents of the Board. The candidates who are still residents will be provided with the Diploma by the National Delegate after the Candidate has provided a certified copy of a document confirming national registration as a Specialist.

The successful candidates can, and are encouraged to, add the title Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO) after their name.
